Same course, different date

As a Masters student starting in January, you'll still benefit from the same opportunities and levels of support as our September starters. Our Winter Welcome events are full of advice and social activities with postgraduates starting at the same time as you. We can also help you find accommodation starting from the new year.

Find your Masters course

Apply as soon as possible for the best chance to start your studies with us in January 2025. If you apply after the following dates you will need to have evidence of meeting your conditions available when you apply:
  • Friday 13 December - Science and Technology, Nursing and Occupational Therapy courses.
  • Friday 20 December - Business and Management and Social Work courses.

If your application is submitted after these dates you will be considered for the next available intake which may be September 2025.

Tuition fees are published on the course page. Students starting a Masters in January 2025 will pay the Sept 2024 / Jan 2025 entry fee.

Frequently asked questions about starting in January

Nottingham Trent University offers Masters with a January start in several subject areas including Business and Management, Science, Computing and Engineering.

As a Masters student starting in January, you'll still benefit from the same opportunities and levels of support.

We organise a Winter Welcome especially for January starters, full of advice and social activities where you can meet other postgraduates beginning their course at the same time as you.

We encourage you to prepare in advance for your Student visa application and apply as soon as you receive your CAS.

You can apply for your Student visa for January courses as soon as you receive your CAS.

You can enter the UK only once your visa has been issued. You can arrive up to 1 month prior to course start date (for courses more than six months in length). You must not travel to the UK before the start date given on your visa, no matter when your course starts.

Yes.  We're delighted to offer a wide range of scholarships for Masters students starting in January, worth up to 50% of your tuition fee. You'll need an offer to apply and the application deadline is 9 October.

Course fees are published on the course page – you’ll pay the same fee as a postgraduate student starting in September 2024.

Yes. NTU has a dedicated accommodation offer for postgraduate students starting courses in January. Rooms are available in Sandby Hall (City Campus) and are suitable for postgraduate students that require contracts from January to January.

We recommend early booking as there is a limited number and allocation is on a first-come, first-served basis.
