What motivated you to pursue an MBA, and why did you choose Nottingham Business School?

"My motivation to pursue an MBA stemmed from my desire to achieve a career change, advance professionally, acquire new skills and build a strong network of connections. I chose Nottingham Business School because of its outstanding reputation and the availability of a specialised Data Analytics MBA, which was among the few offered in the UK. Additionally, the school’s Gold Standard Teaching Award highlights the exceptional quality of its education. Finally, the option to benefit from an in-person learning experience, even for the Online MBA programme, was a key factor in my decision."

How has the MBA programme at Nottingham Business School impacted your career progression and personal growth?

"Thorough knowledge acquired - both technical with the Data Analytics modules and non-technical with modules such as the Leadership one - which provided tools and knowledge that not many other MBAs have."

What is your current job title and responsibilities?

"Operations Manager at Amazon. I lead and supervise a team of Area Managers and oversee 100-300 hourly workers, ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities. I am responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, performance and customer experience during the shift. My duties include accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals, engaging in strategic planning and forecasting, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, resolving issues and addressing staffing requirements. Additionally, I focus on mentoring, training and developing team members to support their career progression and ongoing learning."

Can you describe a key project or accomplishment in your current role that your MBA helped you achieve?

"All my work projects have a data-driven approach for which I have leveraged the data analysis tools acquired during the MBA. During my MBA at NTU I also had the opportunity to develop valuable tools to support people in achieving their goals and growth both personally and professionally as a personal development plans (PDP) template"

Were there any specific skills or knowledge areas from the MBA that have been particularly useful in your career? 

"I found every module very useful and applicable to my daily working life and projects."

What was your favourite part about MBA Reconnect?

"It was all great! I hope it will be organised next year as well."
