How to apply to NTU as an international student

In order to apply for a university in the UK international students will need to use the Universities and Colleges Admissions System (UCAS).
Applicants can now register to start a UCAS application for 2025 entry.

How many universities can you apply for in the UK?
You can apply to up to 5 universities through the UCAS system.
Deadlines
The UCAS 2025 deadline is 29 January 2025. However, we are able to consider international student applications until 30 June 2025 if there are places available on the courses. We strongly encourage you to apply as early as you can.
Uploading documents to support your application
If you’ve applied through UCAS, please upload your supporting documents to us on our Ask NTU form. Supporting documents include qualification transcripts and certificates (an IELTS certificate, for example).
You don't have to upload your documents all at the same time. You can upload any documents you already have and any remaining documents when they are available.
We'll contact you on the email you use in your application if there is more information we need from you other than your supporting documents.
What to do after you've applied
If we have emailed you to ask for further information to help us consider your application, please follow the instructions in the email to upload any documents directly onto our system. This will be quicker than emailing the additional information to us.
If your application is successful, we will contact you with a conditional (or unconditional) offer to study at NTU. If you are not sure what this means, there is more information in our guide: after receiving an offer.
If you would like to apply for a Pre-sessional English (PEAP) course to meet our English language requirements, you need to apply for this course through the NTU Applicant Portal.

Applying directly
If you're interested in applying to Nottingham Trent University only, and do not apply to any other UK university in the same year, you can apply through the NTU Applicant Portal. Please note however, if you're waiting for A-level or BTEC results ('results pending') at the time you apply you must apply through UCAS rather than directly.

We offer undergraduate preparation courses through our partner Nottingham Trent International College (NTIC), Kaplan International. After passing the preparation course at the required level with good attendance, you would progress to your chosen undergraduate degree at NTU.

NTIC is ideally located on our City Campus. As an NTIC student, you’ll be part of the NTU student community, with access to all student facilities and resources.
Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes (PEAP)
If you need help achieving our English language requirements, we recommend that you consider doing a Pre-sessional English course at NTU.
There are entry requirements for each entry level of the PEAP course. The current level of your English language skills will determine how many weeks you would be advised to study PEAP.
Please apply for PEAP through the NTU Applicant Portal.
If you'd like to apply for a PhD or further research at NTU, you can either apply for one of our PhD projects or submit your own proposal.
When you complete your application it is very useful to have details of your qualifications, employment and any research training or experience you have undertaken. You will also need to tell us your source of funding.
