Through our partner Nottingham Trent International College (NTIC), part of Kaplan International, we offer a UK foundation programme.
What is a foundation year?
Foundation years are an extra year of study that allows students who don’t have the required entry requirements to study a degree in the UK.
Our Foundation Certificate courses will allow you to progress to the first year of Bachelors degrees at NTU.
We offer these in the following subject areas.
- Art, design and media.
- Business, law and social sciences.
- Computing.
- Science and engineering.
As an NTIC student you’ll be studying on our City Campus.
You'll have access to all the facilities, services and social events at NTU.
International Year One courses
We also offer International Year One courses to progress to the second year of Bachelors degrees at NTU.
We offer these in the following subject areas.
- Business.
- Computing.

Entry requirements for Foundation and International Year One
For Foundation Certificate courses, the typical entry requirements are at least 11 years of education and UKVI IELTS 5.0.
For International Year One courses, the typical entry requirements are at least 12 years of education and UKVI 5.0
If you do not meet the English language entry level but have at least UKVI IELTS 4.0 in all skills, you can do a course that includes extended English and skills (EES).

Course start dates
There are multiple start dates for these courses.
You may be able to start in spring (January – April), summer (May – August) or autumn (September – November).
Your start date will depend on your academic and English levels, as well as your progression degree start date.
