Our exciting Digital Screen Arts courses are designed to reflect the rapidly growing industry and include animation, games design, games art, VFX technical direction, and VFX art.

Situated within the Nottingham School of Art & Design, our future-thinking Digital Screen Arts courses equip you with industry-relevant creative and technical skills preparing you for the animation, games, and visual effects industries.

Our brand-new purpose-built building in the centre of Nottingham will accommodate a range of creative technology spaces that support our ambition to offer real-world work-like experiences, where students can explore and play with the latest production techniques.

What facilities are available in our new Design and Digital Arts building?

We envisage the new Design and Digital Arts building being used by industry and students alike as an experimental centre for production and discovery. Resources include an LED virtual studio combining real sets with CG environments, a VFX green screen studio, OptiTrack motion capture, and a black box studio supporting immersive projection mapping and for developing virtual reality experiences.

What opportunities are available while studying at NTU?

From our network of organisations, you’ll gain commercial insight through guest lectures from Aardman Animations, Blizzard, Blue Zoo Animation, DreamWorks, DNEG, EA Games, Framestore, ILM, Jellyfish Pictures, Locksmith Animation, Moving Picture Company, Sony Pictures Animation, Walt Disney Animation. You’ll build expertise through live briefs, and competitions, building on your learning through trips to events, exhibitions and festivals.

Recent NTU graduates have been selected for international awards including the Royal Television Society Student Television Awards and screenings at Manchester Animation Festival.
