What is UCAS Clearing?
Clearing is the undergraduate application process for a UK university, from early July until courses start in September. From Saturday 5 July 2025, you could apply to NTU through Clearing if you are in one of the following situations:
- You haven’t applied to a university yet or you are not holding an offer at another institution, and you already have your academic grades / qualification results
- Your academic grades / qualifications meet our requirements, but you haven’t applied to a university yet
- You do not meet the academic requirements for your firm or insurance UCAS choices, or the standard entry requirements for NTU but you would like to apply.
If you are interested in applying through Clearing, take action as soon as you receive your results and become eligible. This ensures you have time to complete the application process, and to make the necessary arrangements to move to the UK, such as applying for a Student visa.
- Which courses do you want to apply for? Visit our course search for detailed information on all the courses we offer.
- Do you want to apply for a course which includes a one-year work placement? This is also referred to as a sandwich/SW course. If you don’t want to apply for a sandwich course, select the full-time/FT option.
- It's important to prepare all the information you need to complete the Clearing application. If you don’t have a UCAS personal ID number at this stage, don’t worry.
- If you have previously studied in the UK please let us know (even if you did not complete the course or are not using the qualification as part of your Clearing application). Our team will contact you for further information when you’ve made your application.
- Tell us as much as you can about your most recent qualifications:
- List the exact qualification title
- Tell us the grade you achieved overall and in each subject, if applicable
- Don’t forget to tell us about any English language qualifications you have.
- Make sure you include your up-to-date email address and telephone number in your application.
- Check your emails regularly. After we have received your application, we will send you an email that includes a personalised link for you to upload copies of your qualifications. If you are an A-level or IB student graduating in 2025 and you do not have your documents yet, please don’t worry as we can check this on our system.
- If you’re applying for a creative course, we may ask you to provide a portfolio as part of the application process.
- If you get a Clearing offer from us, we may contact you to ask for a copy of your passport.
NTU Futures Award
Our NTU Futures Award is a £3,000 tuition fee reduction for outstanding applicants. Apply through UCAS Clearing and we will assess you automatically based on your academic achievements.
