More about Charlotte

Why NTU…

Why did you choose NTU and your course?

I chose NTU because it is a great University. Having won awards for University of the Year 2019, and multiple others, I felt that it would be the right place for me to grow academically and personally.

Could you describe your experience of being a (subject) student?

Being a student at NTU, I have had a range of opportunities, from Q&As with multiple MPs, Career Fairs and day trips to museums with the course team. NTU provides lots of possibilities for its students to excel and grow within their studies, as well as looking to the future.

How would you describe the support from your tutors, university staff and student services?

The support from the university staff cannot be faulted. Tutors and Lecturers are extremely caring and understanding, only being a Teams call or email away if you ever need help. The Student Support Team are always available to talk to if you’re ever struggling, and are there to support you and aid in your time at university.

Outside of the Lecture Theatre…

What three words would you use to describe Nottingham?

Vibrant, Opportunities, Entertaining

Where is a good place to eat, drink or visit in the city?

Roxy Ballroom is only a stones throw away from the City Campus, where you can play multiple ball games, from Bowling to Beer Pong, so it’s a great place to go with your Uni friends and enjoy the evening!

Did you find it easy to make friends and settle in at NTU?

Absolutely, living in Halls of Residence meant that I met people studying different courses that I may not have met on campus, who I now call friends for life.

The Next Steps…

Has the employability team helped you plan for life beyond NTU?

The Career and Job Fairs hosted by NTU are a brilliant way to speak to employers about life after Uni, and helps to seek out job opportunities that you may have never thought of before! Even if you attend in First Year, it’s a great chance to start thinking about certain careers that you might not have heard of and genuinely be interested in.

What would you say to someone who is thinking of applying to NTU?

Do it! NTU is a great place to meet new people, advance your learning and experience a whole new city. With a great student nightlife, helpful University Support Team and plenty to do, NTU is the perfect place to spend your Uni years.

What is one thing you wish you knew before starting at NTU?

Don’t spend your student loan all in one go!!!
