More about Hassan

What made you choose to study in the UK and at Confetti?

I am very passionate about esports and gaming. I was searching for a postgraduate degree in esports for 3 years because I wanted to excel in my esports career and make it my profession. I was glad to see that Confetti is offering a Masters's degree in Esports Production and this is the first time this degree has started. I chose the UK because it has a very diverse culture, people from various backgrounds, no barrier of language and a rich history.

What do you enjoy most about your course and studying at Confetti?

I like the fact that the campus has just launched in London and I enjoy studying this course as the course modules align perfectly with my interests. It's very practical and you get hands-on experience with gaming equipment and advanced esports devices.

What do you think about the course/support staff?

The support and course staff are super helpful and also very professional. They are always there to help with anything I want to know.

Have you been involved in any projects or exciting briefs?

We have started carrying out our research on AR and Esports. We are preparing a research proposal presentation and getting engaged with briefing sessions that are helping to produce the best out of myself.

Would you like to tell us what you've been involved with while studying in London?

I have been working with three foreign companies as an esports admin, tournament administrator and tournament lead. I am also involved in playing some music and singing. I am the first player in South Asia and Pakistan to be signed by a football club as an official eSports FIFA representative. I have also received a Letter of Appreciation from the Pakistan Football Federation.

How does studying in the UK differ from your home country?

It differs in a variety of ways. In our home country, it is more conventional and theory-based. In the UK, learning and studying are very practical and based on recent studies.

What is London like for international students? Where do you usually go during your free time?

London is a beautiful city and there are people from all around the world. It is like heaven for us as it's extremely advanced and one of the world's most modern cities in the globe. I usually go to parks, restaurants, historic sites, tech and esports events. I just love to explore the city.

How was your experience living by yourself? And what is your advice for new international students?

It has been pretty good so far. I am still learning and growing each day. I understand that it takes a lot of effort to live on your own and stay away from your family but I am here for a purpose and hopefully, I am going to achieve it. My advice for international students would be to revolve around your aims and goals. Do what you're passionate about and always choose a field of your interest so you can grow immensely.

What’s it like making new friends/acquaintances at Confetti?

We are a very small group and I have one class fellow in my course. I have made a few friends and enjoy speaking to them on different aspects and we all attend social events at Confetti.

What’s next for you after Confetti?

After Confetti, I would be aiming to be a part of a bigger esports community, platform, gaming company or an organisation where I can implement my knowledge and experience. I would like to excel in esports and maybe become a course leader at Confetti, who knows...
