What has stood out about Nottingham Business School?

It cannot be disputed that the teaching staff at NBS are what makes the university stand out. During my time at NBS the faculty have ensured a high level of teaching and encouraged students to have a positive experience, providing support wherever necessary.

During my third year, I was given the opportunity to study for a year at a university in Innsbruck, Austria as well as an additional month in Noida, India. Not only did these enhance my intercultural competencies and independence, but it also inevitably developed my knowledge surrounding my course, allowing me to experiment with new modules.

How would you rate the course facilities and why?

NTU is known for its extensive modern facilities, resources and support service to ensure students have access to everything they could possibly need when enhancing their overall experience at the university, no matter what course you choose to pick.

What is your favourite thing about your course?

Undoubtedly my favourite thing about studying Business Management and Marketing at NTU is the opportunities and flexibility it provides. There is the option to pick some of your own modules to make the course more tailored and engaging for you, but the university also provides a lot of freedom, especially in the third year where I got the chance to study abroad at two other universities.

Have you taken part in academic mentoring? What has this role involved?

I participated in the CERT mentoring scheme in my fourth year of university. I found this role to be extremely enjoyable as it helped me build my network, and allowed me to be an initial contact for new students starting at NTU so I could offer my insights to new students.

Have you had the option to personalise your course and experience at Nottingham Business School? How has this benefitted your studies?

I had multiple options to tailor my course to better suit my interest and development goals, for example, I had the freedom to pick from three option modules in my second and final year. Additionally, as I applied for a sandwich year, I was able to study abroad in my final year.

Lively, dynamic and welcoming!

How have you found Nottingham as a student city?

As a student city Nottingham has a very lively social scene with something from everyone, ranging from bars to theatres.

Did you find it easy to make friends at NTU?

Making friends in Nottingham was extremely easy, as everyone is in the same situation, especially in the first few weeks of university. It was easy to meet people in student accommodations, lectures and seminars, as well as societies where you all share a common interest.

What do you think of the support available at NTU?

There is an abundance of support available at NTU from the dedicated teaching staff to the student mentors and members of the employability team. No matter what the concern is there is always someone available to assist as well as offering advice and solutions.

What's next for you after NTU?

After my graduation, I hope to enter a graduate job where I am able to put my skills and knowledge into practice. After getting a taster of living abroad in my third year, I hope to work for a company with international links so there is potential to travel within the job. The employability team has provided a series of essential information and employability tools in order to take advantage of opportunities in the future, and massively increase my chances when securing a graduate job. Additionally, there are a series of events, workshops and coaching sessions to take advantage of to promote confidence and articulate skills that will be critical throughout my entire professional career, not just university.
