Why did you choose Nottingham Business School and your course?

“I chose to study at Nottingham Business School because of the outstanding reputation of the university across the world. Based on my experience, I feel NBS is sincerely concerned with graduating the students with a positive experience. The main reason for selecting NBS was the quick response and student support they provide. Apart from that, Nottingham is a student-friendly city which inclined my decision to choose NBS. I have three years of work experience and choosing an MBA would boost my potential further in the global market.”

What motivated you to enrol on the course? 

"I have chosen MBA as the course is well structured along with two consultancy projects which provide hands-on opportunities. In my opinion, MBA is designed for people with prior work experience so it will have a highly experienced and diverse group. With this belief, I joined this course as the cohort will build a positive learning environment. And the Personal, Professional and Leadership Development (PPLD) that goes alongside with the academics made the course more attractive."

Tell us about your experience of the change project for Kaefer. 

“I completed a consultancy project for Kaefer UK and Ireland. My group as consultants were tasked to collaborate with Kaefer for designing a new sustainability strategy. Due to Covid-19 outrage, we did not get an opportunity to meet the client in person, however, we were in close contact with both the client and the supervisor via virtual meetings. The project was a success, and the client was satisfied with the work presented."

What have you taken away from your experience working on the change project for Kaefer?

“The extensive study and research of the tasks permitted me to deepen my knowledge about sustainability and building strategies for change. I can critically understand implementing, driving, and managing change processes using tried, tested, and respected industry frameworks. This project has overall built several skills useful for my future; how to work in a dead-line driven environment, examining market positioning of a firm, evaluating, and suggesting recommendations."

How has your journey on this course and what you have learnt contributed to your career? 

“The MBA course added to my BBA background, it helped me to upskill the knowledge that I have studied in my bachelor. I am extremely fascinated to discover new cultures and traditions, and I got an opportunity to work with a diverse group which made me understand diverse values and cultures. The particular modules that I enjoyed and found useful in my future career were, Marketing, financial modelling, Strategic renewal and transformation and PPLD. I have found myself using the skills and knowledge studied here throughout my career.”

What advice would you give to someone applying or looking at studying for the MBA?

"For potential MBA candidates, it's a challenging course to opt for. But, with ample self-discipline and focus, the course provides an overall knowledge, skill, and behavioural development. There are a lot of learning activities apart from the module workshops such as sessions with clients, industrial trips, meetings with an academic mentor and directors from the highly beneficial industry. In terms of Nottingham Business School (NBS), the support and facilities that they have, and also the quality of the teaching, it is something that you will cherish lifelong. Studying MBA at NBS will prepare you for your future career."
