More about Chloe

Since graduating from BSc (Hons) Equine Sports Science and MRes Equine Performance here at NTU, Chloe is now working as a Higher Education Lecturer at Writtle University College.

Here's what she had to say about her time at NTU.

What is your current job title and what does it entail?

"I am currently working as a Higher Education Lecturer at Writtle University College. My role involves teaching a range of students across levels 4-6 (1st-3rd year of university) in a range of equine related subjects. My main subject field is therapy, but I also teach graduate employability, anatomy and physiology, equitation and coaching, and supervise dissertation students,

"My day doesn't follow a set routine as my lectures change termly. Day to day I can be doing different things such as preparation and marking, student tutorials, practical lessons or assessments, trips, open days, industry talks, lectures etc. It is rather varied and fast paced! My priority are my students, so as long as they are happy, so am I!"

How did your experience at NTU help you get to where you are now?

"NTU helped prepare me not just in terms of my education which enables me to teach it to others, but it also helped me blossom as a person and turn my passion into a career. The variety of topics, subjects and experiences really helped so I could decipher what I wanted to do and how to get there."

What top tips would you give to a student looking to get into your field of work?

"Experience! Nothing beats some real life experience, so do work experience around your degree. I also started in further education (college) lecturing, which really helped prepare me. Prepare to be forever learning to continue and improve- it is a great job if you have the passion for it!"
