"Brackenhurst was local to me and I had heard a lot of good things from friends that had attended from school. It’s a beautiful campus and the facilities are great to work in. I also liked how despite the access course being at college level, it doesn’t feel like being back in school due to the courses structure and the tutors. This was very important to me being in my mid-twenties returning to education after working for several years.

"I trained as a professional dancer at one of the top conservatoires in London and have already completed a BA Hons degree. I was just about to fly out to Crete as a touring dancer/fire performer for an 8-month contract when the Covid 19 pandemic hit and we went into lockdown.

"The entertainment industry suffered greatly during the pandemic and I realized it would be a perfect time to begin studying for my backup career in science whilst the industry recovered. I wasn’t sure exactly what field I wanted to go into when starting the course, but the subjects covered are varied and will allow me to choose from a range of specialised subjects to study further.

"The students on my course are a range of ages and all come from different backgrounds which is a great environment to learn in.

"All the tutors are lovely, they are really supportive and go out of their way to help every person on the course no matter what they are struggling with.

"I applied for the Advanced learner loan to cover the cost of my course which made the decision to study at Brackenhurst even easier.

"Going back into education and starting something new is only scary at first. Give it time and you’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish in such a short space of time.

"My NTU experience has been fast-paced, engaging and motivational.

"I am just coming to the end of my first term of study at Brackenhurst, and I am still not sure exactly what path I want to pursue upon completing the course. I am however confident that the skills I am learning whilst at Brackenhurst will have prepared me for whatever career I decide on at a later date."
