Event details

Professor Brady has made notable contributions to research on the social conditions of children and young people.
Her sociological research has contributed an important perspective on subjective voice, whilst contextualising voice and lived experience within a critical analysis of discourses and policy frameworks which impact on the lives of children.
Through her commitment to extend the boundaries of social research, Professor Brady is driven to initiate change, to make a difference in the lives of children, young people and families that are marginalised, excluded, experiencing inequality, disadvantage or discrimination.
Many of her research projects have been responsive studies, deconstructing contemporary social issues. Using creative and participatory methods Professor Brady aims to diminish power differentials and for participation in research to be transformative.
Her vision is to contribute research which advocates sociological understandings of child and young person health, well-being and welfare.
