Event details

In this taster day you'll experience what it's like to study sport at University. You'll get a chance to explore our different sports related subjects, so its perfect it you're not sure which area of Sports Science you would like to study

In the physiology lab, using equipment to measure oxygen consumption during cycling, you'll perform a mini-investigation to explore how this changes as you begin to work at higher intensities and explore the different factors that contribute to force production and fatigue.

The Sport Psychology session will provide an overview of ‘performing under pressure’, as well as psychological strategies used to help sport performers cope under such pressure. You'll perform a number of activities under varying levels of pressure, and explore different psychological methods used by athletes

Finally, you'll take part in a human movement session where you'll track human movement using 3D motion capture, which uses reflective markers to recreate human avatars (as a skeleton) on computer software!

Academics will be on hand to answer your questions about what varied careers a degree in Sport can bring and current students will answer any questions you have on University life. The day is free of charge and lunch will be provided.

You must be 16 or over to attend this event and be studying Physical Education/Sports or/and a Science A Level or Btech.

If you are a teacher and would like to make a group booking, please contact victoria.sutton@ntu.ac.uk
