This event is the first in a series run by Enterprising Ashfield, designed to support the future of your business. This session will centre around automation and digital technologies and explore how innovation can add value to your organisation.

10 am - Refreshments

10.15 am - Introduction with the Enterprising Ashfield team

10.20 - 10.40 am - Join us for a presentation and discussion around how automation can be adopted into your business, whatever the size. Philip Breedon, Professor of Smart Technologies at NTU, will talk through the technologies required in the factory of the future and the need to identify and exploit these to enable new products to provide a competitive advantage. He’ll discuss the influence and use of automation and robotics with an emphasis on how to integrate these technologies into your business, in the best way. We’ll also be joined by Principal Lecturer in Engineering, Patrick Barber, who will give an overview of how we’re currently supporting an Ashfield business.

10.40 - 10.55 am - Join our team from the Smart Wireless Innovation Facility (SWIFt) to hear about how they can support your business with the development of digital technology and wireless networks-based solutions. The team can support with the adoption of a range of integrated monitoring and sensor technologies, using wireless networks to report back, produce dashboards and monitor activities and behaviours, for example sensing movement of people to maintain correct heat/lighting levels level to help reduce energy consumption. SWIFt has a wealth of experience in networks such as 3G/4G/5G, Internet of Things (IOT), and data visualisation and our specialist team can consult and advise on a number of different areas, from product conception to commercial delivery.

10.55 - 11.15 am - Members of the Enterprising Ashfield team will be on hand to discuss the programmes available to your business as well as the opportunity for you to let us know what support you need.
