In September of this year anti-government protests in Iran were ignited by the violent death of 22 year old Jîna ‘Mahsa’ Amini, a Kurdish-Iranian woman, whilst in the custody of the morality police in Tehran.

The slogan ‘Women, Life, Freedom’ originating in Kurdistan’s women’s liberation movement has become a symbol of this woman-led and youth-led democratic political movement across Iran that includes actions such as civil disobedience, strike, digital activism, and street protests.

This is an open invitation to students, colleagues, policy makers, NGOs, and civil society standing in solidarity with Iranian people to attend this discussion exploring the human rights, social justice, and international political implications of the ongoing events in Iran.
