William teaches brass instruments and is the brass leader as part of the NTU Music team.

Career overview

Will studied bass trombone at the Royal Academy of Music under Bob Hughes (London Symphony Orchestra). He gained the Sidney Langston Brass Prize in his first year. Immediately after graduation Will worked as a freelance bass trombonist in London, touring and recording with The Michael Garrick Big Band and depping on Miss Saigon in the West End. In 1998, he took up the position of Principal Bass Trombone with the Philharmonia of the Nations Orchestra based in Germany. A busy four years involved International Tours, many recordings and regular live broadcasts and recordings for German television. Since returning home to the UK, Will has been fortunate enough to perform with the CBSO, John Wilson Orchestra and many other Orchestras and bands both locally and nationwide.

Will is passionate about teaching and, as well as Nottingham Trent University, holds posts at The Junior Department of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, University of Nottingham and several schools in the East Midlands.
