Andy teaches guitar and bass guitar as part of the NTU Music team.

Career overview

Andy studied Guitar at Leeds College of Music, specialising in electric Guitar Performance on the Popular Music Studies (BAhons) course.

As a professional musician, Andy gigs extensively with a variety of bands all over the country. As a guitarist, he plays in and manages The Beat Collective, a highly sought after wedding and party band playing popular and classic hits. As a bass guitarist, Andy plays in various tribute bands, including tributes to The Stone Roses and The Kinks. This work sees him gigging all over the UK every weekend, playing to sell out crowds in famous venues such as the o2 Academies, as well as playing festivals over the Summer months. Andy also releases music under the guise of AJ Gallagher, specialising in self arranged classical guitar covers, which are gaining traction on Spotify and various other online streaming services.

In addition to his work in bands and teaching at NTU, Andy is the guitar teacher at Nottingham High School and guitar teacher at Toot Hill School in Bingham.
