Overview
The Centre of the Built Environment includes researchers from different subject areas within the School, these being Construction Management, Property Management and Development, and Civil Engineering. The work of the Centre encompasses a wide range of related research areas in the built environment that either focus on specific subject areas or combine interdisciplinary approaches with an objective of addressing societal challenges.
The key areas of interest and research expertise & PhD supervision are:
- housing economics and housing affordability
- commercial real estate market analysis
- construction procurement and construction management,
- lean project management
- energy, sustainability, and climate change
- biophilic design,
- digital infrastructure asset management,
- ageing and adaptation,
- policy and governance for zero carbon
Researchers in the Centre have worked with industry partners and local, national, and international government bodies applying their research to solve real world issues.
