"It was an honour to have been awarded the Investment Property Forum (IPF) Postgraduate prize for my dissertation. I was proud of the work I had produced, so it was fantastic surprise to see my hard work recognised, in what was a challenging year balancing full-time study and working for Galliard Homes. Thank you to Matthew Pollock for his support and guidance, as well as, to the wider lectures and support team in the ADBE department.

My time at NTU has set me up with the foundations to build a successful career within Real Estate. The course itself was engaging, and challenged my market perspectives and encouraged me to form my own insights and opinions into the real estate markets based of the macroeconomic environments, rather than just regurgitating text books. There was also the added bonus of a trip to New York where we had the opportunity to engage with experts within the New York Real estate market such as the Vice President of Leasing at the Empire State Realty Trust.

Since graduating I have joined Savills Operational Capital Markets via their analyst scheme. I am currently working within the Residential Development and Investment team and engaged in a variety of exciting residential projects across the county looking to enter the Build to Rent Market – The theme of my dissertation."

Chanin's academic excellence was further highlighted by his Distinction in the MSc International Real Estate Investment and Finance course at NTU. His internship with Galliard Homes showcased a commitment to practical experience, and he has now taken on the role of an analyst with Savills in London, specialising in Residential Development and Investment.

The IPF Postgraduate Dissertation Prize not only honours Chanin's academic skills but also underscores the relevance of his work in navigating the complexities of lending conditions and economic challenges within the UK real estate landscape. George Chanin's success stands as a testament to the high standards of education and dedication fostered by the NTU community, paving the way for a promising future in the realm of real estate finance and investment.
