Staff Writing Guild

Are you a secret staff writer? Do you have a book inside you just waiting to see the light of day? Why not join the new Staff Writing Guild!

Tom Jenkins, Amy Johnson and Rebecca Beloe at the WRAP 2023 anthology launch.

They say everyone has a book inside of them. Whether you think you are a writer or not doesn't really matter. All you need is yourself, a pen, some paper, a phone, tablet or laptop and away you go. Sometimes all it takes is a little encouragement from your peers.

Following on from the recent WRAP ‘Notes to Self’ anthology, the staff winners have banded together to form a Staff Writing Guild.

Before the WRAP Live event, despite coming from different backgrounds, staff and students came together in a workshop to read their individual writing pieces out loud to each other. What was initially a terrifying thought - bearing your soul to a room full of strangers - became a completely different reality. It became a safe space for everyone to share words and thoughts, and guide and gently help each other in the process.

Supported by the WRAP programme, our members of staff are holding regular monthly meet-ups and workshops to explore ideas and writing styles, support each other in writing, and help with editing and critiquing.

It doesn’t matter what your background is or whether you have experience of writing or not. If you are a NTU staff member who enjoys writing and wants to be part of a community of writers, then get in touch!

Why not come along to our Meet and Greet sessions to find out more about the Staff Writing Guild – and about our Staff Book Club!
