Nottingham Business School hosts Global Responsibility Week 2023 with academics from across the globe

Global Responsibility Week is organised each year to facilitate integration between international academic colleagues and their knowledge with our current postgraduate community.

GRW Students

Global Responsibility Week is a gathering of colleagues from our partner institutions around the world, who present to staff and students on a variety of topics.

The annual event is part of Nottingham Business School's commitment to meaningful internationalisation, and introduces our staff and students to some of our international partners, as well as giving our guests the chance to visit the Business School and explore potential link-ups.

The theme for this year's event was 'Transitioning to Net Zero' whereby business topics such a supply chains, finance and leadership were explored within the context of sustainability. The week also provided an excellent opportunity for networking and collaboration as well as discovering future opportunities for research and study abroad.

Mindful Leadership seminar by Lucia Barros Gurney

Lucia is a Teacher at ESPM in Sao Paulo, Brazil and has been participating in Global Responsibility Week for several years.

Commenting on Global Responsibility Week, Lucia had this to say: "I think it is a wonderful event as it brings professors from all over the world to discuss what is the biggest challenge for the century which is sustainability. It's great to have students from all over the world, interested in building the required skills for leadership in a world that is facing very important challenges and for which we do not have easy answers."

In terms of the students in attendance, Lucia remarked that "it was good to see them really engage and absorb the content and come to me after the class wanting to carry on the conversation. Commenting on her time in Nottingham Lucia said "I like the city a lot, it is a pleasant place to go for a walk and has lots of nice restaurants."

For this year's Global Responsibility week we invited 25 visiting Professors from our partner schools from all over the world to deliver sessions for our postgraduate students on the theme of net zero. The week also provided an excellent opportunity for networking and collaboration as well as discovering future opportunities for research and study abroad. We look forward to hosting another successful event in 2024.
