Concrete manufacture and British standard concrete testing equipment
You'll be able make your own concrete and prepare aggregate here, one of the ingredients in concrete. You'll be tested to find sustainable alternatives to cement in concrete, and whether it's strong enough.

Geotechnics / Soils Lab
Learn about the properties of soil and the ground upon which structures are built, by testing on a range of equipment. Software such as EcoSlope and Prokon are available to supplement the machinery.
Hydraulic / Fluids Lab
You'll spend time in this workshop, equipped with a range of modern desktop hydraulics rigs, open channel flumes and pump testing rigs, in tutorials and for individual and group project work.
