NTU Open Day Travel Support Scheme
Terms and conditions
The NTU Open Day Travel Support Scheme is designed to help prospective students with travel expenses for attending one the following NTU undergraduate open days:
- Saturday 7 March 2026
- Saturday 25 April 2026
- Saturday 27 June 2026
1. Eligibility
To qualify for travel support, claimants must:
- Have booked and attended one of the above open events in person
- Be UK domiciled with access to a UK bank account in their name.
Only the individual who booked onto the event is eligible. Additional attendees/guests are not eligible for payment.
Current NTU students are not eligible.
The travel support scheme does not apply to visits for any other purpose, such as campus tours, interviews, school or college visits, or postgraduate events.
2. Travel claim rates
Payments are calculated based on the number of miles between your home UK postcode and the postcode of the campus you have booked to attend:
- City Campus: NG1 4BU
- Clifton Campus: NG11 8NS
- Brackenhurst Campus: NG25 0QF
Amount which can be claimed:
- £10 for journeys 0–25.0 miles
- £25 for journeys 25.1–50.0 miles
- £50 for journeys 50.1 miles or more
3. How to claim
Claimants must scan their QR code or manually check-in with a member of NTU staff on the day of the event to register attendance. After scanning or checking-in, they will receive a follow up email within two working days of the event containing a link to an online claim form. The form will ask for the following information:
- Full name
- Home postcode used when registering for the event
- Mode of travel used to attend the event
- Email address used when registering for the event
- Main campus attended
- Bank account details (sort code, account number, account holder name)
Only one claim per registered household is permitted per booking.
Claim forms must be submitted by:
- Friday 1 May 2026 for the open day held on Saturday 25 April 2026
- Friday 3 July 2026 for the open day held on Saturday 27 June 2026.
The University will not reimburse costs for cancelled events or non-attendance.
4. Attendance verification
- To verify your attendance, you must have had your individual open day QR code scanned or manually registered at the sign in desk at the open day.
- If attendance cannot be verified, the claim cannot be processed.
5. Payment details
- Payments are made by secure electronic transfer only.
- Payments will be processed by:
- Saturday 7 March 2026 open day: Thursday 9 April 2026
- Saturday 25 April 2026 open day: Thursday 28 May 2026
- Saturday 27 June 2026 open day: Thursday 30 July 2026
- No cash payments will be issued.
- Payments can only be made to UK bank accounts matching the claimant’s name.
- Any discrepancies may require additional verification.
6. Data validation and fraud prevention
- Address verification will use the Royal Mail Postcode Address Finder (PAF).
- Distance will be measured using the shortest distance using Google Maps.
- Duplicate bookings and suspicious claims will be investigated.
- The University reserves the right to request additional evidence (e.g. travel tickets, proof of address).
- Fraudulent claims will result in refusal of payment.
7. Changes and discretion
- Terms and conditions are reviewed regularly and may change without notice.
- The University’s decision regarding eligibility and payment is final.
