Role

Chloe Barber is a lecturer on the BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS undergraduate degree course and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Chloe lectures across all year groups, delivering sessions on Early Years Pedagogy, Educational and Professional Development, Inclusion and Leadership and Management. She supports trainees with their final year Independent Studies research dissertation. Additionally, Chloe is the Placement Lead for the BA Year 2 trainees.

Chloe also lectures on the PGCE Early Years Teacher course teaching the module for Knowledge of Early Learning and Early Years.  She is a Lead Mentor for trainees on placement for both the BA (Hons) and the PGCE routes and Chloe's role further extends into the Executive Lead Mentor (ELM) team offering support, including delivering training to mentors within schools and settings.

Career overview

Prior to joining NTU in 2023, Chloe taught for 20 years as an Early Years and Primary school teacher, across both primary mainstream and a specialist nursery school setting.  She has worked in a range of senior leadership roles, including Curriculum Lead, EYFS and KS1 Phase Lead, SENDCo and Reading Lead. Chloe led CPD relating to EYFS, Phonics, Reading, Safeguarding, Coaching  & Mentoring and SEND for colleagues in her own school, and across other schools within an academy trust.
