Career overview

Dr Al-Hadhrami earned his PhD from the University of the West of Scotland, Scotland, UK (2014) through a scholarship from the University of the West of Scotland and Yemeni government, an MSc in Information Technology/ Applied Systems from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK (2008), and a BSc in Control Systems and Computer Engineering from the University of Technology, Baghdad, Iraq (2002). He has published numerous scientific papers in prestigious journals and international conferences.

Dr Al-Hadhrami founded the Industrial Control & Smart Systems (ICSS) Lab in the Computer Science department at Nottingham Trent University. The lab collaborates with and is supported by the UK's six Electricity Distribution Network Operators (DNO). As the lab's lead, Dr Al-Hadhrami is shaping the relationship and research innovation with the industry.

Dr Al-Hadhrami contributes to high-profile projects worth £15M, serves as PI and Co-PI for several projects, and leads in the UK's six Electricity Distribution Network Operators Cyber Range projects worth £ 11.4 M. He has led collaborative funding applications and managed funded projects both nationally and internationally, remaining actively involved in all aspects of research.

Dr Al-Hadhrami has co-founded the FIGURE Forum. The Forum is a joint platform for industry and academic experts in Cybersecurity and innovative systems in the UK and worldwide.  The forum (FIGURE) is envisioned as an open and collaborative platform where research issues can be discussed among its members.
