Career overview

Ann began her training in local newspapers in 1988 and qualified as a senior journalist two years later after passing the then NCTJ Proficiency Test. Following stints as a reporter and news editor on regional newspapers she joined Yorkshire Television in Leeds where she worked as a reporter and producer on the Calendar news programme. In 2000 she became a freelance producer for GMTV before returning to regional newspapers as a deputy editor. Ann previously taught newspaper journalism on NCTJ-accredited courses at Sheffield College prior to taking up her post at Nottingham Trent University in September 2009.
