Study support for you
Supporting your studies at NTU
During your time at NTU, you can be sure of an excellent range of support to help with your studies.
Studying at university may be different from your previous education. You may face new forms of assessment, types of writing, maths elements or other challenges. Support is available from a range of sources to help you get to grips with your studies.
If you have any questions about your assignments or something that has come up in lectures, your tutor will be a good source of information. They will be happy to discuss your thoughts, ideas or the way you have approached the question. You will either be able to visit them in their office or make an appointment to see them.
We have a group of trained student mentors who can offer one-to-one advice and drop-in sessions. They also run regular support ‘cafes’ focussing on particular subjects such as academic writing, maths or revision.
Your fellow students
Discussing your work with other students isn't cheating, unless you write the same essay together. Talking to others about how they are approaching a particular assignment can help you formulate your own ideas and could give you an alternative insight into a particular problem.
Information literacy support
Learning how to find information and use it correctly is an important part of independent learning. The Library runs a series of events to help you with researching, referencing and using the resources available.
Our Liaison Librarians can offer focussed support in your subject area.
Our NTSU Skills Award programme runs sessions to improve your employability and personal skills.
